Jimmy S. Ly is Partner in the firm. He specializes in complex civil matters, including catastrophic personal injury, construction defect, products liability, toxic torts, premises and professional liability, business and contractual disputes, and homeowner association law. His representative clients have ranged from large corporations to local businesses in construction, real estate, consumer products, retail, hospitality, restaurants, property management, homeowner associations, public entities, commercial transportation, private security, and agriculture. Regarding toxic torts, Mr. Ly possesses extensive experience in the defense of manufacturers, suppliers, and retailers of consumer and industrial products.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Ly investigated, managed, and resolved high-exposure lawsuits as Complex Casualty Claims Senior Analyst for AIG, where he also served on its Leadership Council – Northwest Region. He was also an Associate Professor in the Paralegal Studies Certificate Program at California State University, East Bay, where he taught courses in civil litigation, real estate, civil procedure, evidence, and ethics. He continues to author and present California Continuing Legal Education courses on subjects relating to civil litigation.

In addition to practicing law full-time, he serves as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army Reserve where he provides full-spectrum legal services in military justice, legal assistance, and administrative law in support of national defense. Mr. Ly graduated from California State University, East Bay, cum laude, in 2001 with a major in Political Science. He earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2005.
