Hugo Parker Wins Dismissal On Forum Non-Conveniens Motion
Plaintiffs/ Petitioners, current residents of Connecticut where they have resided for the majority of their lives, filed their complaint for personal injury and loss of consortium in California in order to take advantage of The Golden State’s trial preference statute, thereby cutting the litigation line in front of current California residents. Hugo Parker and co-defendants successfully moved to dismiss the case under California’s Forum Non-Conveniens Statute and preserved the victory on appeal.
