Construction Defect Victory
Along with co-counsel, Hugo Parker defended the General Contractor that renovated the Monterey Convention Center against the City’s cross-complaint, only. The cross-complaint sought over $21,669,714 in damages. A non-suit was granted as to four causes of action. On January 16, 2026 the jury returned complete defense verdicts as to six causes of action and awarded only $396,079 on a single cause of action for Unjust Enrichment.
On April 22, 2026 the Court GRANTED Stronghold’s motion for judgement notwithstanding the verdict as to the unjust enrichment award resulting in a complete defense verdict as to the City’s cross complaint.
