Father & Sons Racing

Ed, Alec & Marc Hugo competed in the Triple Crown of vintage Porsche racing in 2015:  Rennsport Reunion V, Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion and Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival.

Rennsport Reunion V
The world’s largest gathering of Porsche race cars and drivers returned to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on September 25-27, 2015.  A total of 281 race cars classified into seven racing groups navigated the technically demanding 11 turn, 2.238 mile road course that includes the iconic Corkscrew.  Ed and his sons, Alec and Marc, competed in Race Group 2, the "Gmund Cup", in their Porsche 356s in front of an event record crowd of 57,531 Porsche enthusiasts from all over the world.

Rennsport Reunion is held approximately every three years and is the most significant Porsche racing event of its kind.  Focusing on Porsche’s racing heritage, Rennsport is factory-backed and gathers some of the automaker’s most important cars.  The first Reunion was at Lime Rock Raceway in 2001.  Rennsport Reunion quickly outgrew the facilities available in Lime Rock’s bucolic setting and in 2004 and 2007 the event took place at the even more historically resonant Daytona Motor Speedway.  In 2011, the event was moved to Laguna Seca where Ed, Alec and Marc first participated.

Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion
Described as an automobile museum springing to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the Monterey Classic Car Week, and the only event where the cars are doing what they were originally intended to do ... race.  Approximately 550 race cars from around the world are invited to compete in the event and are accepted based on the car’s authenticity, race provenance and period correctness.  The event relives motorsport history at the iconic circuit which has been a cornerstone of American sports car racing since its inception in 1957.

Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival
The Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival is an international event that salutes and rewards cars that are prepared as they were raced in the original era.  The event takes place on Sonoma Raceway (fka Sears Point), a challenging 12-turn road course which features over 16 stories of elevation change.  The track has hosted every major amateur and professional racing series since it opened in 1968.
